A Note From Our New CEO, Dan Goldsmith

It is with a great sense of eager anticipation that I take on, today, the role of CEO of Instructure. I want to take this opportunity to thank Josh Coates for his leadership over the past 10 years and I look forward to continuing to work together in our respective new positions.

The Instructure that I see today is a business built on a foundation of proven performance, ideally positioned for growth in a transforming market. Our people have deep domain expertise and a passion for education and learning. Our products are built on pedagogical best practice and an innovative open, cloud-based architecture. And our customers work with us to evolve and improve the programs they deliver to learners and employees, while also helping to continuously evolve and improve our solutions. People, products and loyal, innovative customers are the foundation upon which Instructure has built its success.

I am excited by the opportunity to build on that success, and the opportunity presented by transformation in the education, learning and employee development markets. Educational and corporate curriculums are no longer static; they change every day with new advances in science and technology, with globalisation and policy, and with shifting demographics. At the same time, the expectations of a new generation of students and employees are different to those that have gone before—immediacy, ubiquity and interactivity will define the classrooms of the future. New technologies will continue to automate large swathes of the supply chain so that employees’ development will be driven not only by what they learn but also by how they learn. And an increasingly complex and diverse technology landscape requires that today’s educators and employee development professionals need a reliable single point of access to information and functionality.

Instructure is uniquely positioned to meet the demands of a transforming market. We enable the education and professional communities to deliver the full learning and development program lifecycle, from planning and preparation to delivery and evaluation. We empower those they teach and train with technology solutions that are built to engage a new generation. And we equip IT professionals with an open, cloud-based architecture that delivers an agile platform for learning and employee development which also maximises return on the technology investment. Instructure solutions optimise the learning and development experience—from the first day of school to the last day of work.

Instructure has built a market-leading solutions portfolio by working closely with the education and professional development communities, with those they teach and train and with the IT professionals who operate our technologies. I very much look forward to continuing this collaboration so that, together, we can reshape the market by empowering and educating a new generation.

Keep learning,

Dan Goldsmith
