Canvas Recognizes Teacher Appreciation Week

“IT IS THE SUPREME ART OF THE TEACHER TO AWAKEN JOY IN CREATIVE EXPRESSION AND KNOWLEDGE.”

–ALBERT EINSTEIN

Even one of the most respected and well-known minds in history needed to start somewhere.

A national holiday is upon us, and you can think of it as a thanksgiving...for teachers. These dedicated women and men are responsible for shaping the lives of millions of children and young adults everywhere. Society expects them to not only educate but inspire. Our team wants to help share the love. Teacher Appreciation Week, the first full week in May, is sponsored by the National Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).

This year, Canvas is launching its inaugural Educator of the Year Awards to recognize exceptional educators who are shaping the next generation of students. Building on our 2018 K-12 Teacher of the Year Award Program, the 2019 Educator of the Year Awards recognizes exceptional educators who are positively impacting the lives of K-20 students.

Canvas is accepting award nominations until 5:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday, May 16, 2019, or until 500 nominations are received, whichever comes first. One winning educator will be selected from each category. Here’s what you need to know to nominate your favorite K-12 teacher/educator.
